What owners say

★4.6(58)

General Mazda CX-9 owner feedback — this listing’s exact specs are above.

Owner reviews are overwhelmingly positive with a 4.6 out of 5 rating from 58 reviews, indicating strong reliability and satisfaction among owners.

The 227-horsepower engine gives you plenty of power for merging and passing, yet it runs on regular gas, keeping fuel costs reasonable for a three-row SUV.

Some owners have reported engine-related issues, so during your test drive, listen for any unusual noises or hesitation, especially when accelerating from a stop—most examples are fine, but it's worth verifying.

A few owners mentioned electrical system concerns; check that all electronics (infotainment, lights, windows) work properly, and ask for any service records related to electrical fixes.

With over 20 complaints reported, it's wise to get a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic to catch any potential problems early, as many issues can be addressed easily if found in time.
